Shiatsu Therapy

From the perspective of shiatsu, we focus on the human being as a whole in the living context. We work with, and through the energy (= meridian system). This is related to all body parts and functions, our emotions and thinking patterns. It is important for us to know some things about the client (i.e. work, living situation, etc.) in order to be able to discover the cause, and to treat complaints properly and to give advice in lifestyle. We often provide supportive exercise advice. Shiatsu is pressure point massage, acupressure and is a manual form of therapy from Eastern medicine (Japan) on the meridians (energy channels). The pressure can be held longer at one point and/or stimulated rhythmically. The emphasis is on the improvement and maintenance of the bone structure, joints, tendons and ligaments, muscles and meridians (channels in the body through which lively, magnetic energy flows, in direct connection with the internal organs). This by working with the parasympathetic nervous system (constant pressure).

Clients with back problems, vertebral damage (due to work, posture, over usage or accidents), clients who have had chemotherapy/radiation treatment (cancer), people with rheumatism, MERSI, men and women with injuries to their musculoskeletal system, people with a burnout, people with digestive complaints, headaches, etc.

We can give these treatments on the table and on a futon on the floor.
