The English Queen Victoria lived from 1819 to 1901 and during her reign drinking tea became populair. In this "Victorian era" were many earthly pleasures such as alcohol and smoking taboo. Drinking tea could however do little harm. On the contrary, Chinese tea was also used medicinal.
Increasingly in the "better" English circles lunch was replaced by a comprehensive High Tea. With the High Tea the most beautiful tea set (Bone china) and silverware were put on the table. This tradition was carefully continued and not only in England. Also in the Netherlands a lot of tea pavilions came where they reveled in all the wealth of this soothing drink
At Landgoed the Rosep it's possible to enjoy a delicious High Tea. A private High Tea is possible for groups of 30 persons or more. Please feel free to contact us for some suggestions.
